New tourism police on the beat for a safer Istanbul


donning orange and black uniforms, a new generation of multilingual police officers will patrol around Istanbul.
The newly formed unit will patrol the districts of Istanbul that are popular among tourists as the city seeks to recover tourism revenue losses stemming from security concerns.
A new tourism police unit will both serve as a deterrent to criminals targeting tourists and provide assistance to tourists in distress over language problems
